THE KEY TO THE FINAL CERTIFICATE: DUTYHOLDERS, BUILDING REGULATIONS & BUILDING CONTROL CERTIFICATION

03 Oct 2024
Infrastructure Hub

On 6th April 2024, the biggest changes to the Building Regulations in over 40 years came into effect.  Understanding these changes is imperative to ensuring the right information is provided to the Registered Building Inspector before work begins, during construction and after the build is complete.  Who are the Dutyholders according to the Building Regulations?  What are the definitions and duties of a Client, Principal Designer, and Principal Contractor?  What are Dutyholder Notifications and Declarations?  What are the differences between the CDM and the Building Regulations Principal Designer?  What is a Regulation 38 Declaration, and when is it required?  This session will explore why understanding these roles, differences, and information required unlocks the key to a smooth journey through the Registered Building Control Approval process.
