Shadan Dwairi-Wigley

Dr Shadan Dwairi is a Senior BIM and Digital Engineering Consultant in Costain. Prior to becoming a BIM expert, Shadan’s background was in Architectural Engineering in which she obtained her BSc and MSc and worked since 2006. Her experience as an Architect covers a variety of projects which include large scale commercial, educational, residential and hospitality projects.
She entered the world of BIM in 2014 and obtained her PhD in the same area in 2019. As a BIM expert she has been working on high profile projects such as the Houses of Parliament and HS2, in addition to other infrastructure and defence projects. Her main role is interfacing with clients and understanding their needs to deliver and implement digital strategies that would work for their organisation and requirements.
Shadan is also a Senior Lecturer in the University of the West of England in Architecture and BIM, and a researcher with many publications in BIM and digital construction. Her area of expertise is in automation and digitisation, digital transformation in addition to smart BIM. Her skills as an academic and researcher in addition to her experience in the AEC industry, helps her in identifying gaps in the industry, and support clients in solving them.
Shadan also served as a mentor in the Women in BIM network, offering support to female professionals within the AEC industry in BIM related roles for skills, education, and career progression.
