Head of Social Value, Skills and People Development, Danny Sullivan Group
I have worked in the construction industry for over 10 years, beginning my career in groundworks, before moving into roles as a plant operative, supervisor, health and safety and eventually transferring to the role of social value, skills and people development. Within my role of Social Value and Skills, I ensure the 2400 workforce of Danny Sullivan Group holds all the right skills, qualifications and competencies to enable our clients to deliver transformational UK Infrastructure projects. Social Value is an intrinsic part of our skills agenda as we are passionate about creating a diverse workforce and inclusive environments. These are not just buzzwords for us, we believe that social value can enable us to tap into local communities to engage new entrants and address the skills shortages. My role is not just about maintaining competencies, it’s focused on looking at the industry needs and supporting with planning accordingly, to enable our workforce to have long term careers in our industry. This includes non-technical skills development to ensure that we have the right leadership on site, creating safe, engaged and productive teams.
