Philip White joined HSE as a Factory Inspector and has experience of regulating a broad range of industries. Philip has held senior operational and policy roles in HSE, including Head of HSE's Operational Strategy Division, Chief Inspector of Construction and Director of Regulation. Philip has experience of working elsewhere in Government including the Department of Environment, Transport & Regions and Department for Work and Pensions. In May 2023 he was asked to take on the role the Director of Building Safety for the Building Safety Regulator within HSE on a temporary basis with the appointment made permanent in November 2023.
