Paula is a Construction Role Model who has greatly influenced engineering worldwide. Her projects include Data Manager on the Thames Barrier 100 Year Life Project and Lead Engineer for the early stages of Hinkley Point; currently Europe's biggest construction project. Her status as a leader is evident as a Chartered Fellow of the ICE and CMI. She is a true leader with significant contributions to the industry including being Honorary Editor of the ICEs Flagship international journal, an ICE Trustee and Head of ICE UK Regions. Her contributions have included championing the first ever Climate Change special issue and getting the whole suite of journals linked to the UN SDGs. Paula fights for the rights of underrepresented groups within SRM, she championed the introduction of a menopause policy and mentors' many including helping unqualified Operatives gain qualifications and a long-term contract. Outside of work she founded TheLine which asks if phrases are 'over the line' supporting victims and others. She has also wrote 5 children's books showcasing female STEM professionals which are available from the WES Lottie Tour website. She gives back to the community through her STEM work where she has reached over 120,000 participants in the last few years alone. She is the Founding Chair of Engineering Together which brings together many different STEM and Engineering bodies. She is passionate about tackling climate change; her Primary Voices initiative has seen over 15,000 students make climate pledges. Paula's many awards gives an indication of how much she has inspired others despite challenges along the way. Amongst them are Tees Business Lifelong Inspiration and European WICE Lifetime in Engineering Awards. She has also recently received Freeman of London status and has been made Chair of the WES Climate Emergency Group.'
