Paul Gaughan
He has over 35 years’ experience within the construction industry with the last 25 years in senior board positions in both commercial and operational roles in Main Contracting organizations within the London Fit Out Sector. He has been involved in setting up and developing niche businesses within the London commercial sector. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He is also involved with FIS through their Sustainability Leadership Group and with the City of London through their Skills for a Sustainable Skylines Taskforce.
He works as a construction business consultancy and practitioner businesses supporting construction clients, contractors, and specialist contractors as they embrace Net Zero and ESG as a driver for business improvement and differentiation. He firmly aligns with the principles of ‘Rewiring the Economy’ and the need for leadership development to support business in reframing their purpose, strategy, and approach to ensure a sustainable future for all.
He is advocate of collaborative practices and procurement to strengthen key relationships which enhance business value. He is particularly interested in how to lead the decarbonization of construction activities whilst developing the leadership skills and practises to support the supply chain in this area. He is currently on CISL Masters programme with his research focusing on decarbonising construction and how the industry and organisation can embrace the circular economy as they develop their sustainability strategies.
