Nicola is Central Region Director at the FMB. Before joining, she spent 16 years running her own building company, specialising in the renovation of larger and listed homes and winning several Master Builder Awards, including a national Master Builder Award.
That experience still shapes what she does now. Nicola is passionate about helping small building businesses thrive, making support practical, relevant and easier to access, strengthening the communities around them and ensuring their experience helps shape the wider construction industry.
She also runs the Women in FMB network, bringing together women running and working in small building businesses across the country.
Work on Britain’s existing homes accounts for 21% of all construction output, and small building firms do most of it - a largely unsung part of the industry that Nicola is committed to championing.
