Naim Basha
Naim has 20 years+ experience in the Construction Industry, starting his career as a setting engineer and progressing through to director level at Winvic Construction where he was operationally responsible for a divisional annual turnover of £150M+ across a variety of projects. In 2021 Naim co-founded Wilten Construction, a modern main contractor specialising in the design and build of industrial, logistics and commercial projects. Wilten has achieved circa 400% growth since its establishment, with 2022-2023 turnover of £37M, 2023-2024 turnover of £34M and a 2024-2025 target of £60M. Naim has made significant contributions to the construction sector through championing sustainability, developing/implementing methods that find significant savings in costs whilst reducing emissions and associated impacts, e.g. modifying soils for reuse on site, eliminating offsite disposal. He promotes EDI within the industry, providing an environment that supports women in the industry through recruitment, retaining, and developing diverse talent, and supporting women into leadership roles. His exceptional leadership, dedication to mentorship, and knowledge sharing approach have a huge impact on the next generation of young professionals, setting him apart as a true icon in the industry; he:
• Actively engages with young talent offering guidance for them to reach their full potential through 1-2-1 mentoring.
• Is shaping the next generation, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement through supporting training and development via programmes, career pathways, and workshops.
• Has successfully completed projects that have positively impacted the industry and local communities e.g. Oakham Trade Park, a regeneration project which boosted the local economy, created employment for residents, and used the latest techniques to recycle 99% of waste and achieve EPC-A.
• Has enhanced construction practices, paving the way for a more sustainable and innovative future for the industry, introducing standard construction details on industrial projects that achieve required design standards and improve efficiency.
