John Woodward
Former President,
Institute of Demolition Engineers
As a former president of the Institute of Demolition Engineers, John Woodward fundamentally changed the UK demolition landscape. He was and remains a keen advocate for education and training and was responsible for developing the Demolition Degree course now run by Wolverhampton University. He is a co-author of several sets of industry guidance notes that have further shaped the demolition sector. He also co-wrote two children's books - My Dad Does Demolition and My Dad Drives a Digger - to encourage young people into the demolition business. He works tirelessly for a number of charities, visits schools and educational establishments to spread the "demolition gospel" and is a demolition industry icon in every sense of the word.
