Bethany Holroyd epitomises the essence of a UKCW role model and icon, inspiring future generations within the construction industry and beyond. Her extensive experience and unwavering dedication to promoting the industry set her apart a trailblazer in her field. With over a decade of experience in construction, a chartered health and safety professional, has not only excelled in her profession but is committed to promoting STEM careers, apprenticeships, and diversity within the industry reflecting her belief in inclusivity and equal opportunities for all. Bethany's impact extends far beyond her immediate professional circle. A sought-after speaker and writer she captivates audiences with her dynamic and passionate presentations, contributions to industry publications and collaborations with education providers/businesses/institutions. Her ability to engage and educate has earned her a dedicated following as a thought leader – despite being discouraged from joining the industry and receiving abuse on numerous occasions for being female in a male dominated space. Bethany recognised that there was no work being done to promote health and safety as standalone career choice this led her to become an early year’s children's author – her book is due out imminently. She’s incredibly passionate about ‘lifelong learning’ promoting curiosity and creating excitement around the industry for young children to address the significant gap in awareness around roles in construction/H&S – challenging perceptions of roles within these industries. By working with a number of professional institutions to influence apprenticeship development and supporting their education teams, she is actively shaping the future of the industry and inspiring future leaders. Her exemplary leadership, dedication to safety, commitment to education, and advocacy for diversity make her a deserving candidate for recognition as a UKCW role model. Her influence transcends multiple boundaries - inspiring individuals across generations to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
