Phil Morley, Managing Director and founder of Infinite Access, has been appointed Vice Chair of the IRATA International Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) for the UK and Ireland — a role at the centre of how the rope access industry regulates itself, and one Phil is well suited to.

More than a title

This isn't a significant appointment because of how it reads on paper. It's significant because of what it represents for the industry.

The IRATA RAC exists to uphold and advance standards, safety, quality of work, and working practices across the rope access sector. As Vice Chair, Phil will work alongside the UK RAC Chair to support IRATA member companies, raise concerns, share lessons learned, and drive the kind of improvements that make a genuine difference on site.

Why it matters

IRATA is the leading body for industrial rope access, but that standing doesn't maintain itself. It depends on people prepared to turn up, speak out, and put in the work — in meetings, in conversations with regulators, and in the ongoing effort of holding the industry to a higher standard.

Phil has built Infinite Access around exactly those values: integrity, trust, excellence, and ambition. They're the reason clients keep returning, and the reason we take our position within the wider industry seriously.

In this role, Phil will represent not only Infinite Access but every IRATA member company across the UK and Ireland. That means encouraging open dialogue, flagging legislative and regulatory shifts that affect how rope access work is carried out, and actively encouraging more companies to join the IRATA fold — because a stronger, more unified industry benefits everyone within it.

What changes?

Phil continues to lead Infinite Access, overseeing a team delivering complex access and engineering projects across the UK. But his influence on industry standards now extends further. The RAC convenes regularly to address the issues that count — safety incidents, emerging legislation, training standards, and how IRATA continues to expand its reach both nationally and internationally. Phil will now play a direct role in shaping those discussions.

Raising the bar, one rung at a time

Done correctly, rope access is one of the safest and most cost-effective ways to work at height. The RAC's job — and that of people like Phil within it — is to keep it that way.

We're proud of this appointment. And more importantly, we're ready to get to work.
