Innovative cleantech firm Aceleron recognised for its environmental, sustainable credentials

18 Mar 2022
The company’s unique circular economy battery technology has won ‘Environmental Product of the Year’ at the Data Centre World Awards 2022 and also won ‘Sustainable Energy Use’ at the Sustainability West Midlands Roadmap to 2030 Awards.

The Data Centre World Awards took place during their event at Excel London on 2 March 2022 and recognised Aceleron’s battery technology as a development or new product that improves the environment either by the reduction of emissions or reduction of waste.

The following week, Aceleron went on to win the ‘Sustainable Energy Use’ award as part of Sustainability West Midland’s initiative to achieve a 79% increase in the amount of energy generated by renewable technology from 2019 levels. The focus is on improving social, economic and environmental indicators across the West Midlands to achieve a fairer, more sustainable region for all.

Carlton Cummins, CTO and co-founder of Aceleron said: “We are honoured to have received recognition for our work through both of these awards and would like to thank Data Centre World and Sustainability West Midlands for the acknowledgement.

“Repurposing and maximising our use of the Earth’s precious finite resources lies at the heart of Aceleron’s purpose and we are working hard to revolutionise the world’s attitude to batteries as we transition to an electrically powered existence.

“These awards help to raise awareness of our cause and we are extremely grateful for that opportunity.”

Aceleron’s future-proofed battery, the Essential, is unique to the market thanks to its patented compression technology, which means that every individual part can be accessed for repair, upgrade and maintenance. This gives the product the potential for an endless lifespan which is much kinder to the planet and keeps long-term costs down.

Using the same technology, the company has also launched a compact circular economy energy storage system, the Offgen, created for off-grid or grid-tied residential and light commercial use. Designed to work seamlessly with solar PV systems, it has several benefits including easy installation, flexibility and the ability to be upgraded, which significantly improves the return on investment as well as reducing battery waste.
