How easy it is to run an electric vehicle by Octopus EV

19 Oct 2018

Daniel Brown, Policy Manager and EV Lead for the REA hosted The Renewable Theatre last week which was at the heart of EV activity during UK Construction week. The Theatre was a hub where leading brands and thinkers from Europe, North America, and the UK discussed the future of EVs, their impact on the evolving world of clean energy, and opportunities for charging infrastructure deployment in the built environment, REA Members Octopus Electric Vehicles showcased the value and opportunity of EV for fleet and infrastructure to gathered crowds how easy it is to plug in to the electric vehicle revolution, showcasing the latest and best in electric vehicle technology.

Octopus’ team of electric vehicle experts also hosted their own stand at the NEC to demonstrate how plug-in cars work, dispelling some of the myths around them (for instance, most new EVs can go upward of 200 miles between charges), as well as taking dozens of interested visitors through the low cost leasing options available. They had two cars - a Renault Zoe and BMW i3 - on site, as well as home and domestic car charging units, and hundreds of mini octopus toys.

Octopus EV Partnership manager Freddie Eastham was impressed with the event, saying "it had everything we wanted; very busy, with a lot of people that knew a bit about electric vehicles, as well as quite a few that didn’t know anything at all. It was great to talk to them all, and spread the word about EVs!" If you missed the show you and want to find out how easy it is to run an electric vehicle you can always drop Freddie from Octopus EV an email at freddie.eastham@octopusev.com
