CIOB JOINS UK CONSTRUCTION WEEK BIRMINGHAM 2026

CIOB JOINS UK CONSTRUCTION WEEK BIRMINGHAM 2026

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) will be at UK Construction Week Birmingham, taking place at the NEC from 29 September to 1 October 2026, joining the industry for three days of debate, collaboration and connection around the future of the built environment.

This year, UK Construction Week Birmingham is centred around The Construction RESET, bringing the industry together to address what needs to change and how construction can respond to the challenges and opportunities ahead. Built around Building Better, Building Smarter and Building Responsibly, the RESET will focus on the practical action, innovation and collaboration needed to create a stronger, more resilient industry.

Partnerships with professional bodies such as CIOB are an important part of amplifying this message and ensuring the conversations taking place at UKCW reflect the breadth of the sector. By bringing together members, industry leaders and professionals from across the built environment, the partnership will help extend these discussions beyond the show floor and encourage greater collaboration across the industry.

As part of the programme, CIOB President Saul Humphrey will take to The Construction RESET Stage on 29 September from 10:30 to 11:15 for The Construction Reset: What Needs to Change and What Happens if We Don't?

Moderated by architect and TV presenter George Clarke, the discussion will bring Saul together with Jackie Rigby, Assistant Director of Regeneration, Partnerships and Major Projects at Homes England, and Tim Balcon, Chief Executive Officer at CITB.

Together, they will examine construction’s critical role in delivering the UK’s housing, infrastructure and growth ambitions, and what needs to happen to ensure the sector has the skills, capacity and investment to meet growing demand. From innovation and collaboration to workforce development and new career pathways, the session will explore where construction can unlock growth, improve performance and build a future-ready industry.

There will also be opportunities to continue the conversation away from the stage. On Day 2, 30 September, from 10:30 to 11:30, CIOB will host a session in the Build Connect Lounge, providing a more focused setting for visitors and members to connect, exchange ideas and engage with some of the issues affecting the sector.

Across all three days of UKCW Birmingham, visitors can also find the team at the dedicated CIOB Lounge on Stand H41. The Lounge will provide a central meeting point to connect with CIOB, learn more about its work and meet fellow professionals from across construction and the wider built environment.

With significant challenges to overcome and equally significant opportunities ahead, The Construction RESET is about moving the conversation forward, from identifying what needs to change to exploring how the industry can make it happen. Through its partnership with UK Construction Week, CIOB and its members will be part of that conversation.
