According to the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the construction industry will need to find 157,000 new recruits by 2021. An immense task, considering our poor image and fierce competition from other sectors for the best talent. Young people aren’t always aware of the career routes available. They may be drawn to working in offices like Google with their sleek design and interactive working environment but may not realise that it takes some creative minds to build these offices in the first place. How should we engage with new generations to promote the innovation, diversity and exciting opportunities within our industry?
