Wellbeing Information Zone

Reaching construction professionals and providing mental health guidance is something that UK Construction Week (UKCW) is keen to do. That is why we have partnered with associations and organisations and developed the Wellbeing Information Zone on its inaugural year at the 2019 show.

Sadly, there is an elevated risk of mental illnesses in Construction. Two people a day attempt to take their own life - making it a bigger killer than falls from height, accidents or anything else.

Our Wellbeing information zone includes workshops on mental and physical health, workshops on tailoring an approach to mental wellbeing in your business, personal stories from construction professionals who have dealt with mental health problems and can share their tips on how to spot people in trouble, how to assist, and where to get support.

Wellbeing Information Zone

Wellbeing Information Zone, and drop in advice centre will signpost those looking to get support for their company or even for themselves. Speak to industry experts, mental health first-aiders and charities there to support.

Finally, network with colleagues and experience the Carwyn Jones's Timber calming swings in the networking zone, from the man who appeared on George Clarke's Amazing spaces with his Tiny House in Wales.

Partners include: Mates in Mind, Considerate Constructors Scheme, The Finishing and Interiors Sector, The FMB, On the Tools, Fix Radio, New Foundation Counselling, Constructionwise, Novus, Joanna May Meditation and & Yoga and many more.

Sport is a great outlet for stress, and it is also a good boost for mental wellbeing. Besides the overnight cycle ride there is also UKCW’s first multi sports cup. This is in conjunction with STEAM; a mental health charity the aim of the tournament is to promote the wellbeing benefits of sport and exercise. Teams will play a round robin of football, netball and touch rugby.
