BIM Beyond the UK: Unlocking the opportunities from BIM going global
The UK’s International BIM programme is contributing and informing the rise of government BIM initiatives around the world. What’s the big picture? Why is the UK supporting partner countries’ BIM plans? And what will it achieve?
What is the UK’s opportunity in the growing global digital construction market? And why is the UK’s help needed to unlock the potential of digital construction, globally?
From the UK to Peru, from Brazil to Vietnam the increase of government BIM programs is one of the most significant trends affecting the industry over the past ten years. It is set to continue with public sector procurement driving BIM requirements across Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Using case studies from the UK’s International BIM program (BEIS/CDBB), this session unpacks how national BIM programs work and explains how these are generating commercial opportunities; and how we are helping to close the global infrastructure gap.
This session looks forward at what will likely happen over the next ten years. You will be able to describe change at a national level; be able to identify the likely outcomes expected and identify the different types of commercial opportunities for your own organization.
Using case studies from the UK’s International BIM programme with partner countries across Europe, Latin America, US and Asia, this presentation will;
-Provide a global picture of BIM developments
-Identify the expected global benefits
-Unpack the commercial opportunities arising from BIM “going global”
