The Flooring Industry Training Association (FITA) are very pleased to announce that Steve Ramsden our chief instructor and Tim Nicholas one of our course instructors, will be delivering floor laying demos at the Surface and Materials Show this year.

Mick O’Flynn, FITAs training manager said “This is a new and important event in the exhibition calendar for FITA and we are very pleased to be working with leading manufacturers who provide sponsorship and have supplied some of their latest products and tools for use in the demo zone, we would therefore like to thank all FITA sponsors for their support in helping to make this happen”.

It is clearly important for architects, interior designers, specifiers and industry professionals to be aware of the latest developments with products and laying techniques which will be on show at the demo zone and that is why FITAs relationship with our sponsors keeps our specialist training and assessment offer at the cutting edge of floorlaying skills development, which helps to promote the best ways to ensure quality installations in both the contract and domestic flooring market.

FITA was set up by, and is fully supported by the Contract Flooring Association (CFA) and National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers (NICF) to provide high quality training required by the flooring sector. It has a fully equipped training centre at Loughborough in Leicestershire where the majority of its standard short duration courses are delivered. Standard courses cover all the main flooring categories – from subfloor preparation to installation of vinyl sheet including wet rooms, luxury vinyl tiles, linoleum, through to laminate, solid wood, sanding and finishing and, of course, all areas of carpet fitting.
