Peter Minnis

Director, TODD Architects
I have been working in private practice since the late 1980's and been engaged in the business of architecture for over 20 years, as an equity director of TODD Arhictects, being at the heart of the company's growth over that period to become an AJ100 UK leading practice (current no. 48), employing 90 staff in studios in Belfast, London, Manchester and Dublin and now turning over £7.5m annually.

We have successfully designed and delivered major, multi-award winning commercial, residential, healthcare, logistics and hospitality projects across the UK and Ireland, for a wide range of public and private sector clients….. in recent years increasingly extending into the D+B field, working with some of the UK's leading contractors on the delivery of projects like Goodluck Hope, a £250 million residential led mixed-use development of 840 homes, for developer/contractor Ballymore on the Banks of the River Thames in London.

Whilst having practice wide directorial responsibilities (I was awarded the IOD (NI) Director of the Year 2022, Agility & Resilience category, in recognition of my effort to steer the company through the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic) I still like to design and stay engaged in projects from inception to completion.

I have witnessed some extraordinary changes both in the profession and the wider construction industry, where as a young architect I was using Rotring pens and tracing paper, I now view BIM models on monitors that at times look more akin to a computer game than a construction project!
