Director, Priestland Consulting
Much of the innovation in construction comes from construction-tech start-ups. Yet it is a lonely life being a founder. John Priestland has created the C-Tech Club (www.c-techclub.org) as a global support network for founders and CEOs of construction-tech start-ups. It started as a drink after work with 12 founders in London in autumn 2019. But the C-Tech Club is now a global community of 340 founders in 28 countries. The Group is working with VCs, conference organisers (to help make events more relevant to start-ups) and Government bodies. The Club has recently published the C-Tech Club Catalogue of Construction Technology Types to better explain what construction technology is, and to help contractors and asset owners decide on the 'tech' that is most relevant to their project or programme.
