PLATFORM SOLUTIONS - STANDARDISED APPROACH BASED ON PROCESS INNOVATION

04 Oct 2022
UKCW Meeting Room
We know that cost and price have a direct relationship with production volume in large scale manufacturing-based sectors. Within the construction and infrastructure sector, the adoption of platform-based solutions and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) will start to catalyse similar economies of scale, but there is also a need for mass customisation to achieve the specific objectives of clients and customers – hence standardised needs to consider process-based benefits and not just product-based commonality. In this workshop, we aim to debate the benefits of both approaches and discuss how one could be the enabler for the other, to achieve large scale production economies and still achieve derivation to achieve customer expectations.
