Using the Construction Playbook to add power to your procurement

07 Oct 2021
Infrastructure Hub
Following the publication of the Construction Playbook, organisations across the public sector are encouraged to utilise the guidance to improve and maximise their Construction procurement. The result of deep engagement with stakeholders across the UK’s construction industry, it captures commercial best practices and specific sector reforms, setting out the government’s expectations of how contracting authorities and suppliers, including the supply chain, should engage with each other from the start of any programme.
In his role as Deputy Director for Construction at Crown Commercial Service, John played a key role in the drafting process of the Construction Playbook focusing on early supplier engagement, outcome-based specifications, effective contracting, risk management, long-term planning and the overall procurement process. He continues to be part of the steering group, supporting and overseeing implementation.
In this session, attendees will learn:
-        What the Construction Playbook is
-        How it is improving the industry and outcomes for Construction projects across the public sector
-        How it can be implemented to maximise public procurement and benefit your organisation
