Polterm Max Plus: Stone wool insulation for façades
As well as considering the thermal and acoustic performance of a building at the specification stage of a project, it is critical that developers and architects ensure it complies with current building regulations. As such, Isover’s latest CPD, entitled ‘Stone mineral wool insulation for rainscreen and masonry façades’ provides a detailed overview of ventilated facades and masonry overcladding and how they relate to the structure of the building; with the aim of guiding specifiers and architects through their next project, in order to ensure the building’s occupants are provided with a safe, warm and comfortable environment
The whole of the industry is well aware of the importance of fire-safety within external wall constructions. What’s more, following recent changes to Building Regulations, it is now compulsory for relevant buildings over 18m in height to have external wall insulation installed that meets either a Euroclass A1 or A2 rating. Understandably, these changes have led to heightened levels of concern within the industry, as to how best insulate a rainscreen or masonry façade, while also fully complying with building regulations and ensuring the protection of the building and its occupants.
