Designing and installing service penetrations in compartment walls and floors
08 Oct 2019
CPD Hub 2- Hall 11
Building performance , Fire Regulations & Safety
Building services are the hearts and lungs of a building, they allow the building to operate, and require pipes, ducts and cables to pass through the building in unseen voids through walls and floors whose performance is key to the fire safety of the building, yet unseen these service penetrations can be left with holes where fire can pass through or inappropriately fire stopped with potentially dire consequences. This session is based around a new guidance document that will be published in the spring to provide a process to design using a modular compliant approach with verification steps that will provide the required evidence to meet the requirements of Regulation 38 of the building regulations. You will see previews of the outcomes from the development work and be able to register for free copies of the guide when it is published.
