ATC Almeria Digital Panel Heater & ATC Lifestyle Thermal Electric Radiator.

Client Requirements:

University Collage Cork Campus Accomodation offers great value accomodation to students during term time and to other guests during the summer months. With four residences to choose from- University Hall, Victoria Lodge, Castlewhite and Victoria Mills, they provide an ideal base for students and visitors to the area.

As part of a recent refurbishment, the Victoria Mills building required an upgrade to more energy efficient products to reduce electrical consumption and offer more user friendly heating.

Product Criteria:

  • Energy Efficient heating to reduce running costs.
  • Controlability- the heaters had to be simple for students and guests to use and accurately control.
  • Comply with the Lot 20 Eco Design Directive.

“Our requirements were for controllable heating with low running costs. We chose to use the Lifestyle and the Almeria as they met our criteria and also aesthetically fitted with their surroundings ” ‐ John Cunningham, Project Engineer Arup.

Product Evaluated and Chosen:

The Lifestyle Thermal Electric Radiator was tested and proved to be the most effective option for heating the living areas. The simple controls make it extremely user friendly while additional features such as the PID control, adaptive start and open window technology all insure low running costs.

For the bedrooms, the Almeria Panel Heater was deemed a more suitable solution. Again, its simple controls and sleek finish make it ideal for such areas.

“We have used the Lifestyle rads many times as we find them quick to install and set up. The programming is straight forward. This was our first time using the Almeria heater and we were surprised how quick it was to fit and set up. The controller is easy to read and simple to use” ‐ Ian Kiely, Kiely Technical Services.
