Developed 30 years ago by Beal International, MORTEX, a waterproof fine coating, is nowadays used for technical and decorative projects : it can be found in numerous professional projects worldwide, but also in more modest realizations in private homes.
MORTEX offers a mineral appearance evoking ‘waxed concrete’ or tadelakt. It presents several advantages which make this product an exceptional concept: the application of a thin layers is enough to bring colour, resistance to abrasion, flexibility and impermeability.
Thanks to this last one, MORTEX is perfectly suited for bathrooms, showers and exterior surfaces. But it has numerous other application areas: floors, stairs, furniture, worktops, decoration…
A major advantage of MORTEX: it easily covers an existing tile, thus avoiding tedious work of demolition and evacuation. Its fine thickness makes it an ideal solution for renovation: the coating can easily be installed without damaging the adjacent surfaces and existing joinery.
Besides, BEAL International offers a non-exhaustive colour chart of 64 colours + 16 new special colours, but the numerous pigments available allow an infinity of colours according to your imagination.
For the installation of the product, it is recommended to let it done by a professional applicator. Respecting the rules of the art in this matter, he will harmonize carefully his gestures during the application to create the desired effects. The final appearance may vary from a smooth and homogeneous surface to a textured and nuanced surface.
