Why is the event moving?

Whilst Boris Johnson has given the exhibitions industry a restart date (1 October); sadly, the venue is unable to confirm it will be able to stage the event, and there has now been too much time lost in the planning stages for the event to go ahead and deliver the kind of result we would expect it to. We feel at this stage it is better to protect the investment of exhibitors and start planning for October 2021, when we feel the country will be much better equipped in dealing with the virus and people will feel more confident about attending exhibitions.

What will happen in October 2020 now?

The whole working week, Monday 5- Friday 9th October 2020 will be host to a number of online events. These will be keynote presentations, panel debates and webinars all hosted online. There will also be opportunities for product supplier and customers to meet and do business online.

I have booked travel and/or hotel for the show, is there any compensation to cover this?

Unfortunately, we are unable to cover travel costs. You may want to contact your provider directly to discuss amending your booking to the new dates. Given the circumstances and lack of government guidelines around events at this stage, we believe most hotels will be open to moving your booking to 2021 rather than risk losing your business.

Will my stand space be in the same location for 2021?

UK Construction Week 2021 will have an all new floor plan as the event moves halls for 2021. Those who had booked their stand for 2020 and have paid a deposit by 30 September 2020 will be offered first choices of stands for 2021 as they would have been as part of the on site booking process.

EXHIBITORS' FEEDBACK

"We had a wonderful time in terms of the number of stand visitors we received and the way in which people engaged with weberwall brick. Initial feedback has been really positive, and after securing a lot of quality leads we’re looking forward to following them up and further introducing our new product to market."

Tracey Dempster, Marketing Director, Weber.

"It was a busy few days and there were a great mix of attendees, from new industry entrants to managing directors and chief executives. It was really engaging to meet with the next generation and to meet people who aren’t already entrenched in traditional attitudes around construction."

Mark Ireland, Chief Engineer of Technology Strategy, Manufacturing Technology Centre.

"It was an incredible show. I came away with at least 60-70 excellent business leads. One project alone will pay for the cost of attending the show. It’s been so successful, if I’d known I’d have gone for a larger stand and brought more of our team along."

Brendan Hourican, National Sales and Marketing Manager, CircofloPro.

"We’ve had some great conversations. It was a good show, very busy, and we spoke to a lot of young professionals who are the future of the industry. They were really engaged."

Ade Feeney, Divisional Account Manager, B&Q at Tradepoint.
