ITN Productions is very excited to be working with the Home Builders Federation (HBF) on ‘Foundations for the Future’, a news-style programme, hosted by Natasha Kaplinsky. The programme will explore the state of the home building industry today, examining the key challenges in building enough homes, and charting the innovative solutions being pioneered by various parts of the sector.
The programme will launch at the Build Show during UK Construction Week on the 18th October, and will be available to watch on HBF’s website for the next year.
With demand for ‘a million new homes by 2020’, the UK needs a home builders sector that is ahead of the game and responsive to changing demands. ‘Foundations for the Future’ aims to heighten awareness among policy makers, politicians and the wider public about these challenges, whilst also encouraging future policy development that works for the industry and HBF members.
The news-style pieces investigate the extraordinary breadth of the sector and how it affects the people in it; combining interviews, news items and sponsored editorial profiles. It drills down into issues such as gaining planning permission, treating connectivity as a common utility as well as assessing how the UK can be an environmental leader for thermo-efficiency in homes.
Stewart Baseley, Executive Chairman of the HBF commented on how “Everybody recognises that housing has grown in importance over the last few years. Not a day goes by where you open a newspaper, listen to the radio or watch the news where you don’t hear something about the housing crisis. The industry has a very strong story to tell and is committed to delivering the high quality homes the country needs”.
ITN Productions looks forward to telling this story. We hope it stimulates debate, encourages the exchange of ideas and gives a voice to the good news stories from the housing sector.
