UK Construction Week Sponsored Bike Ride Mk II
LONDON to BIRMINGHAM – October 2017
For the second year, New London Architecture Chairman, Peter Murray, will be cycling 125.7 miles from London to Birmingham to raise money for Construction Youth Trust.
Construction Youth Trust works with young people across England and Wales to help them overcome barriers and find work or training in the construction industry – providing CV and employability training to ex-offenders, students and people not in employment training or education.
Peter is calling for construction professionals to join him again and arrive by bike at the opening of UK Construction Week on the morning of Tuesday 10th October. Last year Peter and his construction peloton raised nearly £10,000 for CYT, and they are aiming to at least double that in 2017.
Peter Murray says “This is a really great cause - particularly so in a period when the industry is suffering from a shortage of skilled labour and when we need to encourage more young people to see construction as a rewarding career. The ride, which culminates at Birmingham’s NEC in time for UK Construction Week on October 10th, also aims to shed light on the work CLOCS are doing to ensure a road safety culture is embedded across the construction industry.”
